Friedrichshain

The Fairytale Bar in Berlin-Friedrichshain delights guests with its fairytale bar concept.

The fairytale bar has been located near the fairground fountain in the Volkspark Friedrichshain since January 2015. The bar abducts its guests with an unusual and imaginative bar concept into a crazy Tim Burton fairytale world. The entrance to the small bar is only granted upon request by bells.

A lettering “Follow the white rabbit” points the way to the door. Fairly painted and dressed figures open the door and guide the guests inside. There are numerous references to Alice in Wonderland and other fairy tales. Designed as a theme park for adults, Alice references such as the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat or the Red Queen are exhibited in illuminated showcases, on the walls or in the toilet. The dark bar is chillily decorated and even the bartenders are dressed in fantasy style. There are room dividers and curtains in the room, creating a homey atmosphere and cozy seating areas. A special feature is the separate bar menu for women and men with a curious surprise. The map whispers fairy tales and sprays fragrances.

The cocktails are not cheap, but of excellent quality. The names of the drinks all have a fairy tale, such as Snow White and Rose Red, Cheshire Cat, Princess Frost or The Frog King. Champagne drinks are served in a glass shoe. Also barfood in form of a snack consisting of sausage, olives, vegetables and cheese is offered.
