Icebar Berlin

Between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt lies a bar that literally takes its guests' breath away: The Icebar Berlin keeps its rooms cooled to minus ten degrees Celsius, transforming an evening in Berlin into a 19th-century Arctic polar expedition.
Icebar Berlin: When the interior is made of ice
The idea is incredibly simple yet spectacular. The entire interior is made of solid ice, from the bar to the seating. An eight-person team of sculptors worked for weeks with chainsaws, drills, chisels, and carving tools in a room kept at minus 15 degrees Celsius, shaping 40,000 kilos of ice into artistic sculptures. Even the glasses from which drinks are served are made of ice. Instead of bouncers and a waiting list, parkas and gloves are provided at the entrance to ensure a pleasant tour through the ice world.
Polar expedition with drinks included
The concept of Icebar Berlin goes far beyond mere spectacle. Guests accompany the crew of the Hansa, a research vessel built in 1864, and after a free drink in the warm tavern, experience Captain Hegemann calling the crew on deck to explore the northeast coast of Greenland. Upon entering the bar, guests receive a logbook that informs them about the upcoming adventure and provides an overview of the included drinks. The standard ticket includes entry and three drinks, including a welcome drink in the lounge area and two drinks in the IceBar itself. Thus, the evening is perfectly orchestrated from start to finish.
