Located on Bötzowstraße in Prenzlauer Berg, on the edge of Volkspark Friedrichshain, is one of Berlin's most expertly crafted cocktail bars. Saphire Bar offers a menu with around 300 drinks, homemade original creations, and a lounge atmosphere that lets the evening pass by without a rush.

The interior surprises: once a vegetable shop, Saphire Bar today presents itself as a sleek neighborhood spot with brushed stainless steel and soft cream-colored benches. The focal point is an almost eight-meter-long bar, an original creation by the interior designer. Those who sit down often stay a while.

Around 300 Cocktails and a Bartender with a Signature Style

At Saphire Bar, there are over 300 cocktails to choose from, including around 50 original creations by bar manager Roland Hoppenheit. The drinks bear names like “Trilogy of Passion” or “Desert Picnic at Sunrise” and combine, for example, ginger vodka with chocolate liqueur. This is not just an add-on, but a core concept.

In addition, there are more than 150 different whiskeys, 70 rum and gin varieties, and 40 vodka brands, complemented by wines and selected champagnes. This makes the spirits selection one of the most extensive in the city. Classics, including the Daiquiri, are also reliably well-executed, and prices vary depending on the time of day.

Style Without Noise

The atmosphere is relaxed and lounge-like. The staff is professional, attentive, and understands their craft. Saphire Bar is one of the few cocktail bars in Berlin where you can actually have a quiet conversation. Additionally, a cocktail course for up to eight people can be booked in the backstage area of the Saphire Bar. Mediterranean finger food is served, so the evening carries itself even without a separate dinner.
