The Milchhäuschen is a family-run restaurant and café on Lake Weißer See in Berlin. From the sunny terrace of the long streched restaurant built in the seventies you have a direct view of the Lake in Weissensee, where in summer a fountain bubbles and families with small rowing boats sail across the lake. The whole atmosphere seems to be somewhat anachronistic far away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

A hundred years ago there was a restaurant in a garden house where milk was originally sold in 1913, hence the name. Today, one can enjoy here quite unpretentiously a “pot of coffee”, but of course also a latte macchiato or other coffee specialties. Also really good tea is offered here, like an Earl Grey Premium or organic Darjeeling Imperial from Eilles. There is also a large selection of different fruit and herbal teas. At the buffet you can see what cakes are on offer.

Those who want to eat lunch or dinner will find different main courses such as pork schnitzel, pike-perch fillet or seasonal dishes such as Beelitzer asparagus on a changing weekly menu. Also grill and pan dishes with classics like the “Wiener Schnitzel” with French fries and salad are offered here.

A visit to the milk cottage offers recreation from everyday life and calls for repetition!
