The capital has several taverns where hearty brewhouse spirit and rich cooking come together. The Weisse Roessl in Lichterfelde is considered the oldest Bavarian spot in the city, and on Potsdamer Platz the Lindenbraeu taps its own beer from organic ingredients. Anyone looking for a piece of Munich at Alexanderplatz will find it at Hofbraeu Berlin with original Munich beer. We broke pretzels, checked the Obatzda for seasoning and tasted the Weisswuerste before the noon bells. Where can you celebrate Bavarian joie de vivre most beautifully in Berlin?

A good Bavarian tavern needs more than decor in blue and white. For this list I tried my way through Weisswuerste, Leberkaes and roast pork and paid attention to the details: a Weisswurst served before the noon bells, crispy crackling roasts with a dark sauce, a drinkable beer on tap and that warm tavern atmosphere where you are allowed to laugh out loud.

Lindenbräu at Potsdamer Platz stands for hearty Bavarian cuisine and house-brewed beer made from organic ingredients.
