The Beuster Bar in Berlin-Neukölln charmingly combines a bar and restaurant with a French bistro style, offering a well-curated selection from oysters to champagne. Its cozy atmosphere makes it a popular meeting point for connoisseurs.

At Schiffbauerdamm, next to Friedrichstraße S-Bahn station, only a steel door without a sign leads into Bar Tausend. The space is a converted railway arch where photography is prohibited and, due to its structure, there is no mobile phone reception. Every cocktail has its own playlist. For scene bars in Mitte, this has been the benchmark for over a decade.

Beuster Bar sits at the corner of Weserstraße and Weichselstraße in Neukölln, in a building that belonged to a transport company in 1905 and gave the bar its name. A ceiling painting by Gabriela Jolowicz hangs above the counter, and the wine list is built almost entirely around natural wine. As a trendy bar in Kreuzkölln, it is the go-to spot for oysters.

One enters Mein Haus am See at Rosenthaler Platz through a large window, stepping into a two-story space with a staircase landscape, sixties-style furniture, and free admission. It's a café in the afternoon, a bar with DJs in the evening, and in the basement, you'll find the Cosmic Kaspar club. Among Berlin's iconic scene clubs, this is the spot that lasts from coffee to the last round.

Hafen on Motzstraße opened on November 16, 1990, as the first gay bar in the neighborhood without darkened windows or an entrance bell. From here, the Motzstraßenfest, the Teddy Award, and the Red Ribbon Rave originated, Nan Goldin photographed the interior in the nineties, and it has its own float for Christopher Street Day.

Nathanja & Heinrich is located at Weichselstraße 44, a side street off Weserstraße, and is named after its two managing directors. Three rooms with high ceilings, a smoking and a non-smoking area, plus wooden benches outside against the wall. The sandwich of the day costs 8 Euros. A trendy bar in Neukölln for long evenings.

Café Luzia is located at Oranienstraße 34, filling approximately 250 square meters with fifties vintage furniture, murals by Chin Chin, and lots of candlelight. Reservations are generally not taken, and DJs play in the back room on weekends. A Negroni costs 12.50 Euros. A typical start to a long night as a scene bar in Kreuzberg.

At Lychener Straße 15 in Prenzlauer Berg, Zu mir oder zu dir looks like a stranger's apartment: seventies sofas, red light, and changing color projections on the walls. Smoking is allowed inside, entry is free, a DJ plays on many nights, and guests get their drinks themselves at the bar. Among Berlin's trendy bars, this is the most laid-back.

Australian-influenced trendy breakfast at Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain: Silo Coffee stands for specialty coffee from its own roastery, seasonal brunch dishes with local ingredients, and the relaxed vibe of a cafe that has long enjoyed cult status in Berlin.

The Betty F Bar on Mulackstraße is a basement bar where the counter takes up almost the entire space. The motto is 'Small but mighty,' Kölsch is on tap, and hits from the eighties and nineties are played. Mulackstraße was already a meeting point for the queer scene during the Imperial Era, and today the bar is an LGBTI* venue for a mixed audience.

Fahimi Bar is located on the first floor above Kottbusser Tor, accessible via a stickered door and a dark staircase. From the window seats, you can overlook the roundabout and the passing elevated train, while inside, the bar is centrally placed in the room. Signature cocktails cost 11.50 Euros. Since 2013, it has been one of the established scene bars in Kreuzberg.

Bar 3 is located in a dead-end street at the end of Linienstraße, diagonally opposite Soho House and a few steps from the Volksbühne. A horseshoe-shaped bar counter occupies almost the entire room; seating is only available on stools and window sills. Kölsch is served in tall, slender glasses, and refills are provided until a coaster is placed on the glass.

Berlin's oldest cocktail bar has been located since 1976 in an inconspicuous ground-floor apartment in Wilmersdorf, Fasanenstraße 40 - whoever finds the black door with the golden frame and rings the bell enters the self-proclaimed "Institute for Advanced Drinking". There's room for barely more than a handful of guests, and cocktails are served without a menu.

The Michelberger Hotel on Warschauer Straße in Friedrichshain is arguably Berlin's most renowned design hotel with character: a former factory building from 1903, combining raw materials, handcrafted furniture, and an organic gastronomic concept with genuine Berlin coolness.

The Linnen in Prenzlauer Berg is a privately run boutique hotel in a renovated 19th-century old building, whose individually designed apartments combine vintage furniture, parquet floors, and industrial charm into a harmonious design concept. Small, personal, and close to Mauerpark.

All lovers of the American breakfast will get happy at Phoenix Lounge in Berlin-Schöneberg where bacon, fried eggs and pancakes are served.

Since 2018, Molly Malones Irish Pub in Friedrichshain has been bringing Irish hospitality to Berlin. Located right around the corner from Berghain, it's the antithesis to the techno district: cozy, loud in the right way, and with live music that truly comes from the heart.

The restaurant Paulinski Palme in Berlin-Neukölln offers a late breakfast menu for their guests on the weekends.
