Wedding

Frau Wunderwald spans 450 square meters over two levels in a heritage-listed hall in a Wedding courtyard, filled with restored vintage furniture, lamps and decor from Mid-Century to Space Age. Shop and workshop sit under one roof, the assortment changes weekly, and delivery within Berlin is free of charge twice a week.

A Heritage-Listed Hall in the Courtyard

From Travemünder Straße, you see nothing. Only by walking through the driveway and about a hundred meters into the commercial courtyard do you find yourself in front of a listed hall, where 450 square meters of retail space are spread across two levels. Frau Wunderwald previously operated a showroom in an old building for three years and then moved here, which visibly benefits the collection: instead of tightly packed individual pieces, there are entire groups that can be tried out together. Restored vintage furniture, lamps, and decor are sold, ranging from Mid-Century to Space Age to modern classics, along with selected art and books. Everything is refurbished and immediately usable; nothing needs to go to a carpenter first. Because new items constantly arrive and others leave, the assortment changes weekly, so a second visit is guaranteed to look different from the first. This is a rarity for Berlin: most vintage shops in the city have to make do with a storefront width, but here each piece has space around it.

Workshop in the Same Building

The reason why the pieces are displayed as they are lies just one door away: the workshop belongs to the shop. Wood is sanded, stained, and sealed, lamps are rewired, and upon request, the team adjusts cable lengths to suit your space. Those who prefer items in their raw state will find a dedicated flea market area in the shop with unrestored pieces for self-pickup, i.e., finds to restore yourself. Transport is convenient: within Berlin, Frau Wunderwald delivers free of charge on two fixed dates per week; nationwide, goods are shipped by freight forwarder for a flat fee of 100 Euros, regardless of quantity and destination. If you have something to sell, you can offer it, as the house also purchases items. The U8 stops at Pankstraße, from there it’s a few minutes’ walk, and the courtyard is also easily accessible via Osloer Straße. If you are eyeing larger pieces, it’s best to bring your room measurements, as it’s easy to misjudge on 450 square meters. And if you just want to browse, you can do so in peace, without anyone standing over you.
