Berlin’s Most Legendary Hotel Spa: Rooms, Pool, and Sauna Area
In October 2012, the Adlon Spa by Resense opened as a new highlight of the Grand Hotel. Resense, a joint venture of Kempinski AG, has since taken over the operation of the luxurious wellness area. Much has happened since then. After an eight-month renovation phase, the new Adlon Pool shines as one of the most modern wellness oases in luxury hotels.
The spa spans three floors within the Hotel Adlon Kempinski and dedicates 900 square meters to wellness and relaxation. The offerings are impressively diverse: eight treatment rooms and three private spa suites, equipped with a bathtub or a jacuzzi, as well as a shower with an integrated steam bath or a sauna, await visitors. Additionally, there is a yoga and meditation room and a relaxation lounge with drinks, magazines, and comfortable loungers.
We were particularly impressed by the newly designed pool area: The shimmering swimming pool, tiled in elegant black with a marble effect, forms the centerpiece, its sophisticated lighting creating a bathing experience like an evening-sparkling sea atmosphere. The heated indoor pool is 11 meters long and is complemented by a whirlpool where fresh fruit and fruit-flavored water are served. The sauna landscape scores with its variety: a Finnish sauna, a temperature-reduced soft sauna, a marble-look steam bath in the style of an Arabian hammam, an ice waterfall, and a refreshing ice plunge pool are available.
Massages, Treatments, and Prices at Adlon Spa by Resense
The Adlon Spa by Resense offers exclusive beauty treatments, massages, and care programs with products from 111SKIN and Babor. The massages cover a wide range of Eastern traditions, from Shiatsu and Watsu to Lomi-Lomi nui and Ayurveda. The Watsu suite, in particular, truly stood out to us compared to other spas: massage techniques are applied directly in warm water here, providing exceptionally deep relaxation.
For external guests: A day pass including access to the sauna landscape and fitness room, tea, water, fruit, as well as bathrobe and towel service, is available Monday to Friday for 65 Euros and on weekends for 85 Euros upon request and availability. Those who book one of the private spa suites can also look forward to champagne, fresh juices, and a fruit platter, which we found to be a particularly harmonious touch for an evening à deux. The pool bar also offers freshly prepared fruit and vegetable juices, healthy bowls, Caesar salad, and cocktails, as well as tea and coffee specialties, which can be ordered on site for an extra charge. So, plenty of refreshments are available.
