Renovated, well-thought-out, and equipped with a sauna area that is unparalleled in Prenzlauer Berg: The Ernst-Thälmann-Park swimming pool combines a dry sauna, steam bath, sanarium, and log cabin sauna under one roof, plus lanes in the adjacent pool.

The Sauna at Ernst-Thälmann-Park Swimming Pool

The Ernst-Thälmann-Park swimming pool, opened in early 1986 as part of the newly created residential park „Ernst-Thälmann-Park”, recently underwent a fundamental renovation. In January 2023, the swimming pool in Prenzlauer Berg reopened after completion of the renovation and has since shone in new splendor. What has remained: the relaxed, down-to-earth clientele. What has been added: a sauna facility that is truly impressive.

In addition to the usual dry sauna, the freshly renovated sauna also offers a steam bath, a sanarium, an oxygen-ion sauna, and a garden with a log cabin sauna. This makes the offering broader than in many other indoor swimming pools in Berlin. For those who value accessibility: The sauna is also usable for wheelchair users, including a ramp to the sauna garden.

Ernst-Thälmann-Park Swimming Pool: Sauna Garden Freshly Upgraded

In March 2025, the outdoor area of the sauna was beautified: It received new planting and a wall, and the seating options were renewed. This allows for cooling down after the infusion to be enjoyed in peace outdoors. For those who want to combine swimming and sauna, there is also a 25-meter pool with five lanes, inviting you to swim laps before or after your sauna session.

The location is equally convincing: The swimming pool, located near the S-Bahn station Greifswalder Straße, is easily accessible by S-Bahn or tram. Regarding sauna tickets: A 3-hour ticket costs 20 Euros, reduced 16 Euros, a day ticket 23 Euros, reduced 19 Euros. Also, please note: A 10 Euro deposit is required for the sauna chip.
