On the seventh floor of the Steigenberger Hotel Am Kanzleramt, barely fifty metres from the central station, lies a day spa with three saunas between 60 and 90 degrees, a new steam bath, quiet rooms and an outdoor terrace. The view takes in the government quarter and the river Spree, and tea, lemon water, fruit and towels are included in the ticket.

Seventh Floor With a View of the Government Quarter

The Sky Spa is at Ella-Trebe-Strasse 5 on the seventh floor of the Steigenberger Hotel Am Kanzleramt, barely fifty metres from Berlin central station. The route from the exit towards the government quarter is practically around the corner, which makes a visit easy for anyone arriving by train or long distance bus. The spa is not run by the hotel itself but by Lara Seminar und Wellness GmbH, a company of the Brueggemann und Partner group. From the sauna area and the outdoor terrace the view takes in the government quarter and the Spree, and in the evening the row of ministries lies lit up below the loungers. The surroundings are correspondingly young: the quarter between the central station, Europaplatz and the Spreebogen has only come into being in recent years, with the Chancellery and the Spreebogenpark next door. External guests are expressly welcome but should book their slot in advance, because the area is a manageable size. For hotel guests the fitness area is part of the stay, and children up to sixteen may only come along with their parents.

Three Saunas, Steam Bath and Massages Above the Rooftops

The Sky Spa has three saunas between 60 and 90 degrees plus a new steam bath, and the sauna area is used without swimwear. For the breaks there are quiet rooms and an outdoor terrace with loungers, and because phones are not allowed in the sauna zone it stays quiet there too. Tea, lemon water, fruit and towels are included in the ticket, while a bathrobe and bathing shoes can be added. There is no pool, but there is a fitness area with Technogym equipment, free weights and a functional zone. The day ticket costs 40 euros per person and two hours 25 euros, and frequent visitors can buy a ten visit card. The combination packages are popular, pairing admission with a treatment, for instance two hours with a half hour neck and back massage or a day ticket with a full body massage of fifty minutes. The treatment list covers back, foot and full body massages, sports and deep tissue work, Lomi Lomi, hot oil treatments, scrubs and cosmetics using Babor products. Massages and cosmetic treatments are arranged on request only. For two people there are separate arrangements that combine a full body massage, prosecco and use of the spa.
