The tea shop King’s Teagarden on Kurfürstendamm has been standing for tea enjoyment and tea competence since 1980. Owner Werner Schmitt, who originally comes from the coffee business and has since devoted himself to tea with heart and soul, offers 400 different types of loose tea of the very highest quality. You will certainly never find bag tea here.

Schmitt spent a year studying the science of tea in Hamburg’s famous warehouse district, the “Speicherstadt”. He’s a writer specializing in tea and wrote books about the subject. He organises tastings and tea seminars, which he calls his “university of tea”. In these lessons you get to know the differences between white, green and black tea, learn what half fermented tea could be, what kind of preparation should be used in which case and where tea comes from. One gets to know methods of tea cultivation and learns about the people who earn their living with tea.

The main goal of the enthusiastic tea expert is to awaken his customers’ passion for tea. He sells tea from the real tea plant only, hand-picked and lovingly selected. The tea offered in King´s Teagarden is pure luxury!
