If you come up from the Schloßstraße subway station in Steglitz, you’re practically already in the store. It all started in 1968 with a small shop on Düppelstraße, opened by Manfred Herpolsheimer, a trained toolmaker. His wife Anneliese brought craft supplies, toys, and board games into the assortment, and their sons Ingo and Michael helped expand the business. An elevator runs between the floors, which the store explicitly provides for people with mobility impairments and parents with strollers.
