Located in the heart of Berlin-Mitte, directly on the Kupfergraben and with the Bode Museum as a backdrop, this antique and book market is one of the city's most atmospheric flea markets. Since 1992, collectors, bookworms, and curious visitors have gathered here to start their weekend with genuine finds.

Antique and Book Market at the Bode Museum: Browsing with a View

Since 1992, around 60 dealers have offered their wide range of goods here, from affordable modern antiquarian items to collector’s pieces of rarity. The Berlin Antique and Book Market on Kupfergraben is the market with the largest selection of books and records in the city. So, if you are specifically looking for reading material or vinyl, this is the perfect place. Several antiquarian bookstores also offer a weekly changing selection of thousands of books.

In addition to books and records, you’ll find porcelain, historical glass, old coins, silver goods, paintings, bronze sculptures, old household inventory, as well as small pieces of furniture and nostalgic tin signs. Old photos, stamps, and postcards can also be browsed, and young artists complement the offerings with their own works. This creates a range at the flea market that rarely leaves a visit unrewarded.

Museum Island as a Backdrop: Berlin’s Most Beautiful Flea Market?

Against the impressive backdrop of Museum Island in Berlin-Mitte, a visit to this antique and book market is particularly worthwhile on weekends. The market is located on Museum Island, largely away from the hustle and bustle of Unter den Linden, which gives it a quiet, almost contemplative atmosphere. Those who are already visiting the Pergamon Museum, the Altes Museum, or Berlin Cathedral can reach the market on foot in a few minutes, as can those coming from Hackescher Markt, Alexanderplatz, or Friedrichstraße.

The Antique and Book Market at the Bode Museum is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 to 17:00. This makes it wonderfully combinable with an extended stroll through Mitte. Regular visitors know: The selection changes, the discoveries remain.
