The East Side Gallery is the longest continous section of the Berlin Wall, that ist still in existence. Thus it is also the longest open air gallery in the world.

When the Wall came down more than 100 artists from more than 20 countries have immortalized themselves here. Some of the most well-known paintings are the Fraternal Kiss by Dmitri Vrubel (original title “My God, Help me to Survive This Deadly Love”) and the Trabant car breaking through the Wall (original title “Test the best”) by Birgit Kinder.

The East Side Gallery has protected memorial status. Currently an artists initiavie takes care of the preservation of the gallery and offers on top of that tours and artists’ talks.
