Since June 24, 2010, Loch Ness has been welcoming guests in Lichterfelde, and its whisky selection has steadily grown ever since. The district is anything but a random choice: Lichterfelde’s most famous attraction is the Botanical Garden with the Botanical Museum, one of the world’s largest botanical gardens, just a few minutes away. Those looking for something warmer after a long stroll through the greenhouses will find a worthy conclusion at Loch Ness. The pub is also only about a seven-minute walk from the Botanischer Garten S-Bahn station. What sets this Irish pub apart from the crowd: over 800 whiskies are available, along with its own whisky menu and the option to book whisky tastings. All drams are served at fair prices in Glencairn glasses with water.

Regular beers include varieties directly from Scotland’s Cairngorm Brewery, supplemented by changing guest ales from smaller breweries. In total, seven taps pour British beers, served in pints or half-pints, plus a large selection of British bottled beers with a focus on Scotland. So, if you’re looking for Guinness, you’re definitely in the wrong place. When it comes to food, Loch Ness focuses on classic pub fare: the menu features burgers, fish & chips, and the Scottish national dish haggis, which is rarely found elsewhere in Berlin. The kitchen is open Tuesday to Saturday from 17:00 to 22:00. So, there’s no breakfast or lunch here. But the evening is long: the pub is open Tuesday to Saturday from 17:00 to 24:00, and the terrace until 22:00. Reservations are recommended as seating is limited.
