Bi Nuu is located in Kreuzberg’s Wrangelkiez, specifically directly in the Schlesisches Tor U-Bahn station. The station was opened in 1902, is a listed building, and, with its ornate iron construction, is one of the city’s most distinctive. The entrance is recognizable by the large windows and the red light behind them. The club is named after the third studio album by the band Ideal and opened in 2012 in the premises of the former KATO club. Before that, a department store, a café, and an exhibition venue were located here.
Inside, the 305 square meter area is divided into two very different rooms. The concert hall measures 221 square meters, accommodates up to 500 standing people, and is so well soundproofed that almost nothing can be heard from the trains overhead. Next to it is the café, with 84 square meters and floor-to-ceiling windows, which functions as a bright counterpoint to the dark hall. All entrances are barrier-free, and a wheelchair-accessible toilet is available.
Concerts at Bi Nuu: from Indierock to Hardcore
The program consciously jumps between genres. Indierock and singer-songwriters stand alongside hardcore punk, rap, and electronic evenings, and the venue often changes these directions within a week. Recent performers included Yemen Blues with a mix of Bedouin Folk and Funk, the Austrian indie band Naked Cameo, and the Turkish singer Kalben. Additionally, there are in-house series like the Uncivilized Civilized Club, backed by a Berlin collective focusing on SWANA culture.
Practically, there are two things you should know before visiting. Tickets are available exclusively online or via Koka36; Bi Nuu does not sell them by phone or at the box office. Only cash is accepted at the door, but at the bar, debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are also accepted. Jackets and bags must be checked separately at the cloakroom; larger luggage only with prior registration. Entry for those under 16 is only permitted when accompanied; between 16 and 18, only for events with an early finish.
