Victoria Bar

Since 2001, Victoria Bar on Potsdamer Straße in Tiergarten has been mixing cocktails at the high level for which bar manager Stefan Weber was named Bartender of the Year in its opening year. Hand-painted wallpaper, green leather, and a very long bar define the space, and the menu features around 200 items. During Happy Hour, every cocktail here costs 11.50 Euros.

Victoria Bar: Bar Culture on Potsdamer Straße since 2001

Victoria Bar opened in 2001 at Potsdamer Straße 102, in a section that was not yet known for good drinks at the time. Stefan Weber, Kerstin Ehmer, and Beate Hindermann founded it, and Weber was named Bartender of the Year in its opening year. Thomas Hauser designed the space, from the architecture to the wall paintings: dark wood paneling, hand-painted wallpaper, green leather, and a bar counter that spans almost the entire length of the room. There are also seating alcoves for guests who prefer to stay at a table. In December 2022, a fire affected the bar; after several months of closure, it reopened in 2023 with the same team. The access is barrier-free.

Around Two Hundred Items and its Own School

The menu includes around two hundred items, organized by aperitifs, digestifs, and Champagne cocktails, and then by base spirit, from rum and gin to tequila and whiskey, vodka, and brandy. A separate section features low-alcohol or alcohol-free drinks. At the bar, you can get a recommendation that suits your taste, not just sales targets. Additionally, warm and cold dishes are available, including a club sandwich. Under the name “Schule der Trunkenheit” (School of Drunkenness), the establishment hosts its own seminars on whisky, champagne, and other spirits. Rotating art is displayed on the walls, with the exhibition changing annually, which has earned the bar its reputation as a meeting point for Berlin’s art scene.
