Flaeming-Skate

One of the most beautiful skating routes is not directly in Berlin, but just outside the capital city. The unique Flaeming-Skate route, a network for skaters, cyclists and wheelchair users extends over the district of Teltow-Fläming in the south of Berlin.

Fans call the very fine asphalt surface of this extraordinary skate track “Black Ice”. The 3-meter-wide railway is over 230 kilometers long and leads through the charming landscape of the Lower Fläming and the Baruth glacial valley. Using the Flaeming-Skate you pass dreamy villages, field stone churches, historic mills and many other sights. Wide fields and meadows line the path.

Ice cream and other refreshments are available to athletes at over 50 rest stops right on the roadside. No matter if you are on the move with fast skates, the bike or the tricycle – everyone gets their money’s worth here! Top10 Berlin tip: The journey to the skating route is possible from the Berlin Central Station with the Regional Express to Luckenwalde or Jüterborg
