After long grey winter months, it is eagerly awaited in Berlin: the outdoor pool season. The city has an abundance of outdoor and summer pools, and many of them have recently been extensively renovated. The Strandbad Jungfernheide in Charlottenburg entices with fine sand and a wakeboard facility, the Kinderbad Monbijou in Mitte shines with a magnificent view of the Museum Island, and the Sommerbad Neukoelln stays in memory with its 83-metre-long slide. A classic is the Sommerbad Kreuzberg, which everyone simply calls the Prinzenbad and which lies on the legendary U1. So everyone finds their favourite pool. For me, the first outdoor pool day of the year is like a little holiday. I love the hustle and bustle at the Prinzenbad just as much as the quiet view of the Museum Island at the Kinderbad Monbijou.
