Dahme Beach at the Stop

Tram 68 stops at a station called Strandbad Grünau, and anyone who gets off is practically at the gate. Behind it, a sandy beach opens up on the Dahme, in front of it are sunbathing lawns, beach chairs, and a separate non-swimmer area where children can splash without worry. A playground, a beach volleyball court, and a rental shop for stand-up paddleboards and volleyballs are spread across the grounds, and a beach bar and a restaurant cater to guests. The facility is operated by STADT. LAND. BAD. GmbH, which runs the entire premises cashlessly: card or mobile phone are sufficient, cash is not accepted here. Dogs must stay outside, children under six years old get in for free. The location on the Dahme also means that excursion boats and rowing boats pass by while you stand in the shallow water. If you like, you can rent a board from the rental shop and paddle a bit along the shore, past the boathouses for which Grünau has been known for over a hundred years.

More Than Just Swimming at the Dahme

Grünau lido is one of the few swimming areas in the city whose grounds are used all year round and do not only welcome guests in swimming weather. Bathing guests are followed by an Oktoberfest including brunch and then a winter wonderland with its own program. For the lido, this means an infrastructure that goes beyond the usual snack bar, offering guests a destination that is worthwhile even after the last dip in the water. Rates remain moderate, starting at 5.50 Euros for everyone aged six and over; for the winter wonderland, they are tiered. Tickets are sold either at the on-site cash desk or exclusively via the online shop, depending on the offer, so checking before arrival saves detours. Children up to five years old pay nothing, and there is a special pass for young regular guests. This makes the facility suitable for a quick dip after work as well as for a full day with a blanket, book, and toys in the sand.
