Watching football with sand between your toes: Strandbad Wendenschloss in Köpenick transforms into Berlin's most relaxed open-air arena for the 2026 World Cup, right on Langer See. Water, beach chairs, and LED screen included.

Public Viewing at the Beach: How does it work?

If you’re looking for public viewing in Berlin for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and don’t fancy crowded bars or overcrowded fan zones, you should turn your attention to Köpenick. Strandbad Wendenschloss offers genuine holiday vibes while watching football for the 2026 World Cup. During the group stage, only the matches of the German national team will be shown; from the round of 16 onwards, you can experience the entire FIFA World Cup 2026 on the large LED screen. This makes Strandbad Wendenschloss one of the few public viewing locations in Berlin that offers a complete outdoor World Cup program.

The LED screen area accommodates 800 people, complemented by a beach bar and grill station. Thanks to a special permit, late-night matches can also be shown live on the beach, in a relaxed open-air atmosphere right by the water. This is particularly important because, due to the time difference, most matches in Berlin will be broadcast in the evening and at night.

What awaits visitors on site?

Strandbad Wendenschloss is much more than just a World Cup venue. In the beer garden, visitors can expect a varied selection of food and drinks with a direct view of the Langer See, including hearty classics, fresh bowls, as well as vegetarian and vegan dishes. The finest fries, salads, and tarte flambée are provided, although bringing your own food is not permitted. Draft beer, Prosecco, spritzers, and many other refreshments are available.

The beach chairs are waiting, the water is refreshing, and the drinks are ice cold. So if you want to go for a swim after the game, you certainly have the chance here. However, you should secure a ticket in advance, otherwise you’ll miss out. The World Cup dates at Strandbad Wendenschloss are June 14, 20, and 25, and from the round of 16 on July 4, 2026, all subsequent World Cup matches. Admission is one hour before kick-off for each match.
