Lunch concerts in the Philharmonie

Lunch concerts in the Philharmonie

The famous Berliner Philharmoniker give a free lunch concert for music lovers every Tuesday between September and June in the foyer of the Philharmonie.

The free lunch concerts in the Berlin Philharmonie have become a tradition. As a rule, chamber music of the highest quality is offered in the foyer of the Philharmonie between September and June at 1 pm.

The music program lasts 40 to 50 minutes each and is therefore exactly the right length for the lunch break. The artists who perform without a fee are not only members of the Berlin Philharmonic, but also instrumentalists of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester and the Staatskapelle Berlin along with students at Berlin’s music conservatories.

The lunchtime concerts are intended for professionals who want to use the lunch break to relax, for seniors who want to avoid evening appointments and for tourists interested in music who want to take a break from sightseeing. The concerts are accompanied by varied catering, which, unlike the concerts, is not free but reasonably priced.
