Menemen, Simit and homemade cakes: The offerings at La Femme Berlin

Many Berliners are looking for truly authentic Turkish cuisine. This can be found at Wilmersdorfer Straße 135 in Charlottenburg, where La Femme Berlin offers a wide Kahvaltı selection daily. For breakfast, there’s Menemen, Sucuk sandwiches, omelets, and savory variations, as well as pancakes and international brunch dishes for those who prefer something lighter. Additionally, there are freshly baked Simits, which are Turkish sesame pretzels, as well as homemade jams and cakes. Everything is prepared fresh daily without additives like preservatives or flavor enhancers. If you still have room, go for a cake: the cake selection is considerable and ranges from traditional Turkish desserts to savory-sweet pastries. There is also freshly brewed Turkish-style Çay, which is served as standard with the breakfast menu.

Since 2004 in Berlin: History and location of La Femme

To ask about its origin, one has to go way back: La Femme Kahvaltı ve Simit Evi, which translates to “Breakfast House”, was founded in 2004 as a small bakery in Schulstraße. Today, there are two larger locations in Berlin, in Charlottenburg and Kreuzberg. The Charlottenburg branch, spread over two floors with a large terrace, is located directly at the Bismarckstraße subway station, right in the middle of one of City West’s busiest shopping streets. Also nearby are the popular Frau Behrens Torte (Wilmersdorfer Str. 96) and the Schwarze Café, which has been one of Charlottenburg’s most famous breakfast spots for decades. La Femme holds its own very well there and is accordingly well-frequented on weekends, so it’s best to come early.
