At house number 38 is the original store of beets & roots, the chain founded in Berlin in 2016. There are now 21 branches in Germany, nine of them in Berlin, from Prinzenstraße to Potsdamer Platz and BER airport. The menu was developed by a Michelin-starred chef together with an entrepreneur who felt there was a lack of freshly prepared lunch options in Germany. The original store itself is manageable and designed for quick lunch breaks.

Customizable Bowls, Wraps, and Salads

The concept is Fast Casual: Everything is freshly prepared daily, and according to their own statement, the kitchen completely avoids artificial additives and industrially processed ingredients. The menu includes warm and cold bowls, salads, grilled wraps, soups, and sides, many of which can be individually customized. Vegan dishes like the Umami Tofu Bowl are equally available alongside options with chicken and salmon. Bowls are priced at just under 14 Euros, and the Crunchy Hummus Wrap at just under 10 Euros. When it comes to packaging, the chain takes its own path: there are reusable bowls and biodegradable packaging, and a large portion of deliveries are made by e-bike.
