Shaniu’s House of Noodles

Shaniu's House of Noodles on Pariser Straße has been hand-pulling its noodles since 2013 and is considered a pioneer among Berlin's hand-pulled noodle shops. Owner Xiangshi Cui cooks Shanghainese cuisine, with the spicy beef noodle soup being a classic. Among noodle soup shops in Berlin, it is one of the most affordable: almost all noodle soups cost 10.00 Euros.

Shaniu’s House of Noodles: hand-pulled noodles on Pariser Straße

Xiangshi Cui opened the shop at Pariser Straße 58 in 2013, at a time when there were no Chinese noodle houses in the neighborhood. To this day, the noodles are hand-pulled in-house, and many of the noodle shops that have since opened in Berlin have followed this address. The cuisine is essentially Shanghainese, with a few Korean touches on the menu. The dining room is unpretentiously furnished, and in summer there are seats on the terrace. A second location operates in the Manifesto Market at Potsdamer Platz.

Noodle soups at a uniform price

The pricing structure is refreshingly simple: almost everything costs 10.00 Euros. The house classic is the spicy beef noodle soup, alongside which are the braised beef variant and a spicy noodle soup with tofu and vegetables, each also for 10.00 Euros. Those who don’t want soup can get garlic noodles with mushrooms and tofu for the same price. Also available are handmade dumplings and chili wontons. Card payment is possible, reservations can be made, and there is a dedicated lunch menu.
