Matchasome on Torstraße in Mitte is Berlin's first pure Matcha Café. Founded out of a desire to find truly good matcha in the city, the café stands for organic, ceremonial matcha from Japan. With two locations in Mitte and Kreuzkölln, it has long been more than just an insider tip.
Matcha Latte, Nitro, Dirty and vegan cookies
If you’re looking for matcha in Berlin, you can hardly pass by Matchasome. The flagship at Torstraße 68 in Mitte is the original location: a compact, well-designed space with a clear offering of ceremonial matcha drinks, Hojicha, and vegan as well as gluten-free pastries. This makes the selection nicely niche and all the more high-quality. Besides the classic Matcha Latte, there are many colorful Iced Matcha Drinks like the Nitro, Detox, or Dirty Matcha. All drinks are mixed exclusively with plant-based milk. For those with a sweet tooth, there are also vegan Matcha Cookies from Round & Edgy and other treats. If you wish, you can also buy matcha powder and the necessary equipment to prepare your own Matcha Latte at home. Particularly noteworthy is the quality standard behind the drinks: Matchasome has even imported an electric stone mill directly from Kyoto, offering freshly ground ceremonial-grade matcha directly in the café.
In Mitte since 2022, also on Maybachufer since 2025
Founded by Julia and Nina in the summer of 2022, Matchasome emerged out of sheer necessity: finding truly good matcha in Germany, even in Berlin, was not an easy task back then. A lot has happened since. The first café opened at Torstraße 68 directly between Soho House and Supreme, in the heart of Berlin Mitte. This places Matchasome in one of the city’s trendiest addresses for cool shops and cult brands. A second location at Maybachufer 21 on the Landwehrkanal in the Kreuzkölln neighborhood opened in April 2025, making matcha easily accessible to everyone in the south of the city. Both locations, Torstraße 68 in Mitte and Maybachufer 21 in Kreuzkölln, offer the same menu. If you want to stroll further after visiting the Mitte location: Mamecha on Mulackstraße offers Berlin’s most complete Japanese teahouse experience with tatami seating and matcha cakes.
