The godfather of the Cinco, located in the design-hotel S/O Berlin Das Stue is the award-winning Catalan chef Paco Pérez and the Spanish influence is obvious when you take a look at the restaurant’s menu. Lots of dishes with fresh fish, Spanisch jamón, gambas or the cream sherry Pedro Ximenez from Andalusia, well-renowned for its enormous sweetness.
In order to be able to offer all of this in Germany, Paco Pérez regualrly flies in from Spain – and brings absolutely fresh sea food and crustaceans with him.
However, they do not only want to tease your taste buds, all other senses are to be teased, too – which makes the scent and the texture of the food extremely important. Your eyes will not only feast on the ingenious mise-en-place of the food but also on the 90 copper cauldrons hanging from the ceiling in the middle of the restaurant.
At the same time, the “5” stands also for the five fingers of the hand and thus for the craft of the chef. In 2019 the Cinco holds again one Michelin star.
Top10 Berlin tip: instead of ordering à la carte, try the 30 course degustation menu with corresponding wines.
