The coffee house Zimt & Zucker in Berlin-Mitte has named its breakfast menus after dances, such as the Foxtrot with a selection of cheese and cold cuts, olives, homemade jam, and two bread rolls.
A breakfast at the long-established coffee house Zimt & Zucker on Schiffbauerdamm in Mitte is absolutely charming. The coffee house traditionally presents itself in a Berlin Twenties look. Beautifully furnished with heavy red velvet sofas, mismatched chairs and tables, all in elegant wood tones, the coffee house is almost unrivaled in coziness. An old piano stands in the corner, and the walls are painted entirely in warm orange tones. A delicious coffee scent greets visitors upon entering, and daily newspapers are available.
In summer, the coffee house’s terrace is open, as you sit directly by the flowing Spree. Everything here invites you to spend a leisurely, relaxed morning with friends and enjoy delicious food.
The breakfast variations have sonorous names like Charleston, Slowfox, Tango de Luxe, Foxtrot, or Quickstep. The ingredients are fresh and organic. Especially delicious are the extravagant pancakes with sweets like blueberries and maple syrup, or savory bacon, egg, and sour cream. If you haven’t had enough after breakfast, you can continue with Kaiserschmarrn, Brussels waffles, or Flammkuchen. The tea and coffee selection is, as befits a coffee house, diverse. True to Zimt & Zucker’s motto “A good coffee is like a sweet kiss,” Coffee Orange, Pharisäer, advocaat coffee, and Mocca are served here.
