For beautiful legs in Kreuzberg, the Flying Steps Academy is a must-visit: Germany's largest street dance school trains legs that truly have something to say. Over 20 dance styles, world champions as founders, and more than 4,000 students per week speak for themselves.
Dancing for Beautiful Legs: The Flying Steps Academy in Kreuzberg
Breakdance, Hip Hop, Popping, Locking, Afro, Voguing, Ballet: If you want beautiful legs, you have to move them. And ideally, move them correctly. The Flying Steps Academy is Germany’s largest street dance school, with over 75 trainers and 20 different dance styles across approximately 2,000 square meters in the heart of Berlin. The course program is explicitly aimed at all levels. Whether you’re a hobby dancer or have real ambitions, trial lessons allow for a non-committal introduction. So, if you’ve never done a footwork step, you’re just as welcome here as those who have long mastered their headspin.
Behind it lies a true Berlin story: The crew was founded in Berlin in 1993 by Vartan Bassil and Kadir “Amigo“ Memis, before they took the world to major stages with their show “Flying Bach.“ In 2007, the Flying Steps then opened their own Dance Academy in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Since then, the school has grown continuously: As of 2024, the Flying Steps Academy operates two locations, which expanded to four locations in 2025.
Train Every Day, Whenever it Suits You
What also distinguishes the Flying Steps Academy: its flexibility. Classes are held daily on a drop-in basis. Breakdance, Hip Hop, House Dance, Popping, Dancehall, Afro, Locking, Voguing, Freestyle, as well as Contemporary and Ballet are on the program. This allows dance classes to truly be integrated into daily Berlin life, without weeks of registration processes. Furthermore, the Academy offers far more than just hobby courses: Those pursuing a professional path can be trained as stage dancers and choreographers in three years. And for the little ones? Children’s dance starts from three years old. This way, beautiful legs are known to be trained early on.
