Bis Aufs Messer Records

Those searching for off-mainstream vinyl in Friedrichshain will sooner or later end up on Marchlewskistraße. Since 2006, Bis Aufs Messer Records has stood for curated record sales with attitude: punk, drone, avant-garde, and jazz, coupled with expert advice and its own label.
Bis Aufs Messer Records: Friedrichshain’s Go-To for Vinyl with Substance
The record store in Berlin Friedrichshain specializes in vinyl of various genres and is also home to the ADAGIO830 Records label. It was founded in 2006 and has been an indispensable part of Berlin’s record store scene ever since. The assortment sounds like a declaration of love to musical niches: Alternative, Avantgarde, Drone, Electronic, Folk, Garage, Jazz, Noise, Punk, Post Punk, and Wave all find their place here. If you’re looking for vinyl that simply can’t be found elsewhere, you’ve come to the right place.
The shop welcomes its visitors with a witty greeting in the shop window: “Talk means trouble. Don’t talk” can be read there, a reminiscence of the passion of music listeners who don’t want to be disturbed when searching for extraordinary LPs. Many of the LPs are also hard to find offline, making a visit a true journey of discovery.
Curated, Competent, Consistently Independent
Behind the counter are people who truly know what they’re talking about and provide expert advice to customers. This way, you can find very specific albums or the right sound as a DJ. A small second-hand section with rarities and collector’s items rounds off the offering. In addition to vinyl, the store also carries tapes, some CDs, merchandise, and books. Those who visit regularly are rewarded with weekly new arrivals: restocks from Ash Ra Tempel, Orchid, or Portraits of Past land on the shelf, as do carefully selected new releases. Open Monday to Friday from 11 AM to 7 PM and Saturday from 11 AM to 6 PM, or 24/7 in the online shop.
