House of Villeroy & Boch Berlin: Porcelain Christmas Decorations on Kurfürstendamm

The House of Villeroy & Boch Berlin is located at Kurfürstendamm 33 in Charlottenburg, just a few steps from Uhlandstraße underground station. In winter, the shop window already shows what’s inside, as the store decorates its display for Christmas every year. The brand operates a second Berlin location on Schloßstraße in Steglitz.

Behind the store lies a company history that began in 1748. Back then, the iron founder François Boch started producing ceramic tableware with his three sons in Audun-le-Tiche, Lorraine. In 1791, the merchant Nicolas Villeroy acquired an earthenware factory in Vaudrevange. In 1809, Jean-François Boch bought the former Benedictine abbey in Mettlach on the Saar, and in 1836, both houses merged to form Villeroy & Boch. The baroque abbey in Mettlach remains the company headquarters to this day; the company employs around 12,000 people and celebrated its 275th anniversary in 2023.

Toy’s Delight, Christmas Chic and the Annual Christmas Edition

The Christmas assortment is spread across several collections. Christmas Toy’s Memory stands for large porcelain figures, Toy’s Delight for tableware and small decorative pieces, Christmas Chic for black and gold elements, Christmas Classics and Nostalgic Ornaments for delicate tree decorations. Additionally, there are Advent wreaths, figures, music boxes, and pillar and taper candles. The selection thus ranges from the set festive table to tree ornaments, and the porcelain is dishwasher-safe, so it doesn’t have to remain in a display cabinet.

A special chapter is the Annual Christmas Edition, a yearly series that features a new motif each time and appears as a plate, bowl, mug, and ornament. In 2026, it will feature Santa Claus in a hot air balloon. Also popular is the Advent calendar from the Toy’s Delight series with 24 doors, behind which are specially designed individual pieces, 16 of which are exclusive to the calendar. Prices for a Christmas bauble start at around 19 Euros, a tealight holder from the Toy’s Delight Decoration series is around 26.90 Euros.
