StandUpClub Berlin: SUP Rental at Funkhaus on the Spree

The StandUpClub Berlin is located in the green corner of the Funkhaus grounds on Nalepastraße in Oberschöneweide, where the East German Broadcasting used to have its studios. If you’re coming from Ostkreuz, take tram M21 towards Köpenick to the Köpenicker Chaussee stop and then walk straight through the barrier to the shore. On the premises, there are parking spaces, lockers, and toilets, as well as a large lawn with shade and seating directly on the Spree. The Milchbar and Pizzeria Zola are just a few steps away. From the pier, a few paddle strokes will take you past Plänterwald towards Treptower Park, and if you want to go further, you can reach the Island of Youth, the Molecule Man, Osthafen, and the Oberbaumbrücke. A board with paddle and leash costs 16 Euros for the first hour; the daily rate for up to seven hours is 50 Euros. The minimum age for rental is 16 years.

Courses, Tours, and SUP Yoga at StandUpClub Berlin

The fleet ranges from classic all-round boards to touring and sports boards, tandem boards for two, and big boards for four people, and even dogs are now allowed on board. Those who have never been on a board can book the 90-minute beginner’s course, which covers paddling technique, rules on waterways, and behavior among excursion boats. Furthermore, StandUpClub Berlin is especially known for its tour program. The City Tour takes you with a guide and a small city tour to the Island of Youth, the Sunset Tour aims for the Molecule Man, and for the nocturnal water variant, the boards are illuminated. Additionally, there’s SUP Yoga and Pilates on the board, body workout, personal coaching, and team events in several packages, from school class programs to joint garbage collection campaigns on the water. Wetsuits, shoes, light carbon paddles, and waterproof bags can be booked for a small fee.
