Flashfix

Flashfix at Luisenstraße 51 on the Charité campus is a dedicated bicycle workshop with fixed flat rates instead of hourly rates: an inspection costs 99 Euros, a front tube change 29 Euros, and the visual and functional check is free. If you book online, you get your bike back within 24 hours. Payment is exclusively by card.
A Workshop Without a Sales Area on the Charité Campus
Luisenstraße 51 is located between Invalidenstraße and Reinhardtstraße, directly on the Charité campus, a place where thousands of people cycle through daily. Flashfix consistently leverages this, being precisely what is often a backroom elsewhere: a pure workshop. Bikes are not sold or rented here; instead, spare parts and work are provided for the bike you bring. The workshop operates brand-agnostically, regardless of where the bike was purchased. The second part of the concept is mobile: mechanics come to your home, office, or park with a workshop van or cargo bike to perform repairs on-site, which is particularly useful for heavy cargo bikes that are difficult to push across the city with a flat tire. In Berlin, this is their only location, with additional workshops in Hamburg and Munich. Company fleets and corporate cycling events for employees are also part of their offerings. For delivery services and hotels whose bikes must run daily, this is the primary reason to become a customer here.
Fixed Flat Rates Instead of Hourly Rates
Flashfix takes an unusual approach to pricing: there is no hourly rate, but fixed amounts per work step and four tiered service packages. The visual and functional check is free, a regular inspection costs 99 Euros, and above that are a Premium and a Pro package for frequent riders. An additional charge applies to e-bikes, and a higher one for cargo bikes. Individual services are also listed, from chain tensioning to adjusting brakes and gears, to tube replacement, which costs 29 Euros for the front and more for the rear. If you book an appointment online, your bike will be returned within 24 hours for standard services; a visit without an appointment is possible, but then it usually takes one to two working days. For e-bikes, the workshop also performs diagnostics and software updates, preferably for Bosch motors; repaired motors and batteries are not offered due to warranty reasons. A digital maintenance log is provided at the end, and payment is exclusively by card. Anyone carrying cash should be aware of this beforehand, as the workshop generally does not accept banknotes.
