25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin: Cult with a Fresh Coat of Paint

In July 2025, the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin celebrated its eleventh birthday in City West with over 1,000 guests — and not without reason. The renovation, ongoing since November 2024, was completed just in time for the celebration. This is no ordinary facelift. Werner Aisslinger and his studio were once again responsible for the further development of the design. The result is a design hotel that has remained true to its consistent attitude for over a decade — yet still surprises.

All 22 Large Urban and Large Jungle rooms have been redesigned: The bed moves to the center of the room, offering frontal panoramic views of the Tiergarten or City West. The bathtubs continue to function as Bluetooth speakers, and all Large Rooms now feature their own wooden library pod — a silent nod to the analog. The hotel also focuses on sustainability: In collaboration with Kaldewei, the original bathtubs and shower trays were recycled, technically and optically enhanced, and then reinstalled.

Monkey Bar, NENI, and the new Nomad Day Bar

Even today, more than a decade after its opening, guests queue in the evenings for the Monkey Bar and the NENI restaurant on the 10th floor. Both offer breathtaking 360-degree views over Berlin and serve an eclectic global cuisine. However, a new hotspot has been added: The Nomad Day Bar on the third floor transforms from a quiet co-working café during the day into an intimate wine bar in the evening — with smoothie bowls in the morning and pastrami sandwiches at night.

Those who delve deeper into the hotel will discover more rooms with character. The Brick Lounge, with its handcrafted brick walls, invites guests to work and read, while the Rattan Jungle, with its sculptural seating landscapes and hammocks, perches directly above the Zoo. The redesign relies on sustainable materials such as upcycled cork, natural bricks, and rattan, while mirrored surfaces reflect the green of the Tiergarten directly into the rooms. Thus, the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin remains what it always was: one of the most interesting design addresses in the German capital.
