Carnival

Carnival brings a splash of colour to Berlin each year, even if the city celebrates it with less fervour than the Rhineland. Around Fasching season, carnival means costume parties, parades and themed nights across the city. This overview gathers Berlin locations that join the fun.
Bars and clubs host fancy dress nights in the run up to Lent, while some districts stage small parades and family events. Costume shops do a brisk trade, and the multicultural Karneval der Kulturen in early summer adds a bigger, street party version with music and floats. There is always somewhere to dress up and dance.
