The Stadtbad Tiergarten is located near Berlin’s main train station in the Mitte district and has undergone extensive renovation. Those looking for a good swimming pool in Berlin will find exactly what they’re looking for here. The renovation included energy-efficient facade modernization, new tiles throughout the entire pool area, renewal of the building services, as well as a completely new winter garden and a five-meter-high climbing wall at the diving pool. The result is impressive: the pool genuinely feels like new.

Facilities include a 50-meter sports pool, a separate non-swimmer pool, a 3-meter diving tower with its own diving pool, a climbing wall, gastronomy, a 1-meter springboard, and course offerings. This means there’s something for almost every target group. Additionally, swimming courses and aqua fitness are offered at Stadtbad Tiergarten. The aqua fitness courses are particularly convenient as they are accessible without prior registration.

There’s also a culinary reason to stay: Restaurant Nixe is open on weekdays from 13:00 to 19:30. Those coming with small children will also appreciate a special extra: On selected Fridays, mermaiding can be booked for the little ones, where they learn to swim with fins in workshops.

What’s Next?

Stadtbad Tiergarten continues to grow. A new outdoor area is being developed at Stadtbad Tiergarten, featuring a 25-meter pool, a children’s paddling pool, and a sunbathing lawn, funded by two support programs. This project is the first new swimming pool construction in Berlin since 1999 and will also be used for school sports. Furthermore, in addition to the swimming pools, outdoor changing rooms, sanitary facilities, and gastronomic offerings are planned. This already makes Stadtbad Tiergarten one of Berlin’s most exciting swimming pools with an eye towards the future. By the way: Children under 5 years old have free admission when accompanied by an adult. Those who swim regularly also benefit from a subscription: frequent swimmers pay from 23 Euros per month.
