Freshly renovated and with a planned outdoor pool in Moabit: The Stadtbad Tiergarten, just a few steps from the main train station, combines a 50-meter sports pool, a separate diving pool, and a five-meter-high climbing wall under one roof.

Stadtbad Tiergarten: Berlin’s freshly renovated swimming center in Mitte

If you are looking for a swimming pool in Berlin that offers more than just lanes, this is the right place. The Stadtbad Tiergarten is located near Berlin’s main train station in the Mitte district, making it one of the city’s best-located indoor pools. It has been fundamentally renovated and made more attractive, which includes an energy-efficient facade renovation, new tiles throughout the entire pool area, a renewal of the building services, as well as a completely new winter garden and a five-meter-high climbing wall at the diving pool. The result is impressive.

Facilities include a 50-meter sports pool, a separate non-swimmer pool, a 3-meter diving tower with its own diving pool, a climbing wall, and a diverse range of courses. Additionally, there is the Restaurant Nixe and, on selected Fridays, mermaiding workshops for children. This makes the swimming pool a popular destination for families as well.

Berlin’s First New Swimming Pool Construction Since 1999

What’s particularly exciting is what’s currently being built behind the indoor pool. A new outdoor area is being created at Stadtbad Tiergarten with a 25-meter pool, a children’s splash pool, and a sunbathing lawn. This project is the first new swimming pool construction in Berlin since 1999. In addition to the new pool, a children’s splash pool, sanitary facilities, changing rooms, outdoor catering, and a sunbathing lawn are planned. This significantly expands Berlin’s swimming pool offerings in Mitte.

The price depends on the actual swimming time used, allowing visitors to choose their desired time-based ticket. Children under 5 years of age have free admission when accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available online or at the ticket counter. Those who swim regularly should also take a look at the subscription options. Attention: The pool will be closed from July 9 to August 30, 2026.
