The Funkturm is one of Berlin's most elegant landmarks, a slender steel tower in the west that has watched over the city since the 1920s. Often likened to a little Eiffel Tower, the Funkturm offers a viewing platform and a restaurant with sweeping views over Charlottenburg. The ICC is the largest among Berlin's photo spots: approximately 313 meters long, almost 40 meters high, with a silver-gray aluminum facade, a protected monument since 2019, and closed since 2014. Interior viewings are only possible during rare special openings. From the outside on Messedamm, the main work of high-tech architecture can be photographed at any time.
Small anniversary: For 15 years, the Roncalli Christmas Circus has been part of Berlin, and so for the 15th time, it's "Step right up" at Tempodrom at Anhalter Bahnhof in Kreuzberg.
The Sommergarten (Summer Garden) of Messe Berlin is located under the Funkturm (Radio Tower) in Westend, surrounded by the exhibition halls, and can accommodate up to 10,000 guests across approximately 10,000 square meters. It was built in 1931, and concerts have been held here since 1981. Today, music is only played during the IFA in early September, in 2026 with BUNT. and Ikkimel. It is the shortest format among Berlin's open-air concerts.
Perched 55 meters high above the rooftops of Charlottenburg, the Funkturm Restaurant offers panoramic views from Grunewald to the TV Tower. This listed landmark from 1926 combines Berlin history with upscale cuisine in its faithfully restored Art Nouveau interior.
The Berlin Radio Tower has stood on the exhibition grounds in Westend since 1926 and was renovated for its 100th anniversary, reopening in March 2026. A glass elevator takes guests to the 126-meter-high observation deck in just over 30 seconds, offering views of the entire City West extending to Grunewald. Admission costs 12 Euros.
