The Alt-Rixdorf Christmas market in Neukölln traditionally takes place on the second weekend in Advent. A historic smithy, a carriage yard, a living nativity scene with donkeys and kerosene lamps instead of electric lights create a contemplative atmosphere at the Alt-Rixdorf Christmas market.
There is no trace of commerce, however, as the more than 100 Berlin clubs and associations support charitable projects with their Christmas stalls. They sell handicrafts, toys and jewelry, among other things. And after a tour, honey mead and Rixdorfer liqueur will warm your body.
