KiKiLa KiezKinderLaden

Children's Aid Charity Shop in Kaskelkiez
KiKiLa KiezKinderLaden: Second-hand for a good cause
The KiKiLa on Schulze-Boysen-Straße is no ordinary second-hand children’s shop. The Kinderhilfe in Lichtenberg association has been running it since 2008, and everything on its shelves comes entirely from in-kind donations from the neighborhood. Children’s clothing, toys, picture books, and balance bikes are neatly arranged side-by-side, with prices almost consistently in the single-digit range.
The proceeds do not stay in the shop. They go entirely into the association’s work for families with children suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses. So, a purchased romper not only eases your own household budget but also helps fund a part of the care work.
Why a visit to KiKiLa is worthwhile
The shop is run by volunteers who sift through donations, sort them, and continuously restock the shelves. This means the inventory changes almost weekly, and a second visit often yields more than a long first one. If you wish to donate items yourself, simply bring well-preserved and washed goods during opening hours.
It is open Mondays and Fridays from 12:00 to 17:00, Tuesdays to Thursdays from 12:00 to 18:00. The shop is located in Kaskelkiez, a good ten-minute walk from Nöldnerplatz S-Bahn station – a corner of Lichtenberg that is worth a stroll anyway.
