The Great Tropical House in the Dahlem Botanical Garden is a self-supporting hall structure from 1906 and 1907, sixty by thirty meters wide and twenty-three meters high. Inside, a piece of tropical forest grows with giant bamboo, screw pine, and cycads. A day ticket for the entire garden costs 10 Euros, reduced it is 5 Euros.

Since 2004, a tropical resort with an air temperature of 26 degrees Celsius has been located under the former CargoLifter airship hangar, 360 meters long and 107 meters high. It includes a South Sea lagoon of approximately 3,000 square meters with a 200-meter sandy beach, a 27-meter high slide tower, around 50,000 plants, and an outdoor area of 35,000 square meters.
