Picnic by the Water – Is That Even Possible in Berlin?

Oh yes! Berlin is a picnic city. 44 kilometers of the Spree flow through the capital, and countless picturesque picnic spots can be found on both sides of the river. So, whoever packs a blanket and a basket is literally spoiled for choice. The banks around Kreuzberg and Treptow are particularly popular. Along the Landwehr Canal in Kreuzberg, you can walk, cycle, or even go by rubber boat. Couples cuddle on the walls, lovers share an ice cream or a glass of wine, and in the evening, the pink sunset transforms the canal into a postcard-perfect scene.
