Country House on the Lake in Himmelpfort

Himmelpfort in Brandenburg is primarily known to families because of the Christmas post office located there. But its location between Lake Haussee and Lake Stolpsee also makes the town interesting for tourists in summer: cyclists, water sports enthusiasts, paddlers, and simply stressed city dwellers looking for peace and quiet by the water. They will certainly find it in the lovingly restored almost 100-year-old Landhaus Himmelpfort, which is surrounded by greenery with a beautiful, large garden with private access to Brandenburg’s Lake Haussee, offering enough space to relax and unwind.

The country house is not large. It has nine suites and two double rooms, which are often booked long in advance by regular guests who are drawn back here again and again. But with a little luck and sufficient lead time, you can enjoy a decelerated holiday by the water here.

The suites have no numbers, but evocative names such as Oxford or Loire, and are beautifully furnished in the corresponding country house style. Each has a kitchen so that families with children can cater for themselves. The country house also has its own restaurant, Michaelis, which launched with a new concept in October 2017. If you want to take a small souvenir home, you can stock up on homemade Country House Vinaigrette or Country House Jam.

On the lakeside property, beach chairs and relaxation shells with a view of Lake Haussee ensure relaxation. In the basement of the house, there is even a small sauna that is popular with the country house guests.
