Hotel am Steinplatz

The Hotel am Steinplatz in Berlin's Charlottenburg West embodies what defines a good boutique hotel: palpable history, rooms with genuine character, and a house that has attracted artists and celebrities since 1913. Reinterpreted under the Gekko Group's umbrella since early 2025, it combines Art Nouveau architecture with a modern lifestyle concept of the highest standard.
Hotel am Steinplatz: Over 100 Years of Berlin Hotel History
The Hotel am Steinplatz was designed in 1907 by architect August Endell and is located in Berlin’s Charlottenburg district, near Zoologischer Garten train station. The facade is a protected monument and is considered an outstanding example of Art Nouveau. Anyone entering the building immediately notices: history is embedded in every detail here. The cellar bar became a secret meeting point for artists and intellectuals, counting Heinrich Böll, Günter Grass, Brigitte Bardot, and Romy Schneider among its guests.
On January 1, 2025, the Gekko Group took over the renowned hotel and now welcomes it as Roomers Berlin. The heart of the new concept is the Restaurant Manon – Brasserie Nouvelle, created in collaboration with star chef The Duc Ngo. Manon was nominated as the Scene Restaurant 2025 by the Berlin Master Chefs, and Roomers Berlin also received a Michelin Key. Thus, this individual boutique hotel in Berlin combines culinary delights, architecture, and city life into a harmonious whole.
Rooms, Spa, and the Spirit of the West
The building comprises five carefully restored floors with guest rooms, junior suites, as well as the more spacious Deluxe, Balcony, and Sauna Suites. All are equipped with modern amenities but possess far more character than expected: dark wood paneling, curved walls, and playfully designed vanities recall the building’s original heyday. Upstairs on the top floor, the spa invites relaxation with panoramic views, flanked by a fitness center with city views.
The lifestyle boutique hotel is located about 600 meters from the famous Ku’damm, right in chic Charlottenburg. Shops, cafés, and theaters are reachable in less than five minutes on foot. Thus, the Hotel am Steinplatz is equally suitable for city travelers who want to explore western Berlin beyond the mainstream, as well as for anyone who simply wants to sleep well and dine even better. In summer, events such as the ICON Magazine’s summer party and the Fashion Council Fireside Chat have already been hosted here — firmly establishing the hotel as a cultural anchor point in Berlin City West.
