Almost right beside the famous Charlottenburg Castle you can find Berlin’s oldest brewery with restaurant – Brauhaus Lemke. The interior is just as traditional as the institution itself. Insides you can find lots of dark wooden furniture.

They produce their own beer and they started producing their own beer with special flavors in 1999, when craft beer wasn’t even a commonly known term over here in Germany. The evergreens are the Lemke Original and Lemke Pilsner, but depending on the season you can also order other ales with additional flavors. If you’re interested in the arts of brewing beer, you can register for a guided tour or special beer tasting.

The restaurant of the brewery with its typical German menu is also very popular. The German cuisine goes along just fine with the beer and when the weather is good you can enjoy both on the terrace with a view on Charlottenburg Castle which is on the other side of the street. You can also find two other sites of Brauhaus Lemke in Berlin-Mitte at Karl-Liebknecht-Straße and at Friedrichstraße.
