Quickly assembled wooden pedestals, a nice drink and a sunset with a fabulous view of Berlin – sometimes, a moment of happiness comes at such a cheap price. A trip to Klunkerkranich on the top floor of the parking garage of the Neukölln Arcaden is suitable for all who like an uncomplicated, college-like alternative approach.

This open air location, which is also open during the day on weekends, is on top of all family friendly. A box of sand under your feet spreads not only real holiday feeling, the kids most often use it as well as sand box to play. On really hot days, the staff sets up every now and then a big splash pool.

A regular event at the Klunkerkranich is the Kranich Food Market a mixture of flea market, home-made nic-nacs and a street food market. Worth mentioning is also the the urban gardening project “Kulturdachgarten” still looking for interested urban gardeners to participate.
