The popular wine bar Bar à vins Maxim is one of the places that you just like to hang out at. It’s simply a nice spot to hang out. The walls are a plain white, but the ceiling is a colorful turquoise. Huge wine racks, wooden tables decorated with flowers and a pleasant lighting add to the atmosphere.

Maxim is one of the first wine bars of Germany which specializes on the so called “vins libres” or “vins naturels”. Those natural wines are wines that pass on chemical additives and that are not fumigated or just slightly fumigated. It’s not an easy task to produces vines that aren’t fumigated, which is why winemakers specializing on such wines have to gain a lot of experience. The wine bar supports those winemakers because it focuses on those special wines that are far from being main stream.

The gastronomical offer is surprisingly wide spread for a wine bar. The menu offers mostly French dishes. Every now and then the wine bar hosts cooking events where guest chefs present their skills.

The Maxim bar can get quite crowded over the evening. First it’s mostly young families with kids, but as it gets later young hipster people like to hang out there as well. If you want to spend time in a nice atmosphere and get some good and interesting mentoring on wine the wine bar Maxim won’t disappoint.
