Embedded in the project Dorf Marzahn, kids from daycare facilities and school classes can experience the animals of Tierhof Alt Marzahn as project classes. This location is an educational venue to pass on knowledge about agricultural and ecological subjects. The animals kept there are all farm animals native to the Brandenburg area. Kids can enjoy a round of pony riding or acquire basic animal management skills. There are workshops on cereal and vegetable crops, fairy tale readings in winter and farm stories on hiking days. Every Wednesday you can learn how to use a spinning wheel there.

The staff runs special events during school vacations, for instance the “Living Fairy Tale” event, which sees a donkey, a dog, a cat and a rooster being their part in the tale of the Town Musicians of Bremen. The events can only be attended with prior reservation by phone.
