The modern multimedial library in Wedding was built for 25 months with an investment of about 6.4 million euros. Since July 2015, the Schiller Library has been offering a complete youth media floor of 1,800 square meters (previously 300 square meters) as well as books and media for all age groups. With the youth media floor adolescents and young adults from 13 to 25 years are addressed.

There are workstations, a group workroom, a meeting room and modern equipment, which also allows streaming and media downloads. On every floor there are trendy corners for reading. There you can relax with Percy Jackson, Harry Potter or great technical books for children and teenagers.

Books, DVDs, CDs and other media can be loaned electronically to PCs. Anyone who needs help, is supported by the very friendly library staff. The Schiller Library also serves as a cultural and educational center. The library supports the nearby schools and day-care centers, e.g. with events for the promotion of reading or the provision of media- and information skills.

The new central library in Wedding was realized with fundings from the municipal authorities, the federal state program “Active Centers” Müllerstraße, the program “Library in the District” of the European Regional Development Fund and by means of district funds.
