The family-run Greek restaurant Berkis on Winterfeldstraße in Schöneberg district is well known in the area and the homemade gyros pita with tzatziki is one of the most popular snacks in this area.

For the gyros they use the soft pieces of the pig, such as pig saddles. As a “to go” dish this specialty is then served in a soft yeast dough cake – the pita. Added to this are fresh tomatoes, onions, tzatziki and french fries. The rolled up gyros pita is the Greek answer to Döner and Shawarma.

The Berkis family has been running their restaurant for over 20 years, offering fresh and authentic Greek cuisine every day. The traditional gyros pita is available at the takeaway counter. Either you can enjoy them on the way, on one of the barstools in the snack bar area of the restaurant or happily sitting outside at the charming Winterfeldtplatz.

It is also worth mentioning the close ties of the Berkis family to their homeland of Greece. The food is prepared with olive oil from Crete and both, the olive cultivation and the oil production, are carried out completely by the family in Crete. Other Greek dishes such as Gyros and Souvlaki are served in the attached restaurant.
