The cozy little trattoria and pizzeria Libau takes its name from Libauer Straße in Friedrichshain. Above all, the excellent pizza is popular in the small, mostly well-attended restaurant in Simon-Dach-Kiez. Inconspicuous from the outside, this Italian-run trattoria serves its guests on the inside a tasty pizza with unbelievably fresh toppings on a super thin and super crunchy pizza crust.
The inside of the restaurant is also unobtrusive and rather simplistic with small, rectangular tables that seem a bit worn out. But there is an enormous brick oven to create the right pizza feeling. The tasty pizza, which is offered in many different variations, makes up for what is missing in the ambience. In summer you can enjoy your pizza outside in front of the trattoria on simple beer benches.
The Simon-Dach-Kiez has much developed in a culinary respect in the last years with many small restaurants, bars and cafés. The area is easily accessible by S-Bahn to Warschauer Straße or by tram to Libauer Straße.
